Dollar Store Items for Your American Girl Doll

Isabelle went on a shopping trip to Dollar Tree recently to see what treasures she could find. Although Dollar Tree changes their products from time to time, we’ve always been able to find some great things at the Dollar Tree for American Girls dolls. Plus, at only $1 a piece, they are super budget friendly! We find unique treasures in every section of the dollar store.

Craft Items for American Girl Doll at Dollar Tree

The Dollar Tree’s craft section has recently gotten an overhaul and there are tons of fun things for dolls in this section now. They have added a lot of wood craft projects that are the perfect size for 18″ dolls. They also have tools that are great for working on small DIY doll projects like small scissors, craft glue, and craft knives.

Cube storage for dolls: these boxes have a little drawers that can be removed. We saw ones with heart cut outs, flowers, and butterflies. If you don’t care for the cut out, simply turn that side in and add an itty bitty knob to the other side. Glue together 4 or 6 and paint them white to create little cube storage shelves just like the ones from IKEA. These mini wood crates are so versatile. Use them to make shelves, storage bins, tables, or benches. (Even AG photogs are using these for staging their photos.)

We found 4 different sizes of miniature glass bottles, some with corks and some with silver screw on lids. These could be great in doll kitchens, medicine cabinets, or bathrooms. These are real glass though, so probably best for older kiddos.

Doll sized chalkboards and easels would be perfect for and American Girl doll school or cafe.

These rub on transfers make cute accessories for historical dolls. I especially love the postcard and vintage advertisements.

Party Favors and Toys for Dolls at Dollar Tree

On this visit we found mini Dominos, desktop skeeball, and desktop cornhole that all are the perfect sized games for 18″ American Girl dolls. In the past we’ve also found a small Jenga set that is the perfect size for yard Jenga for dolls.

Dollar Tree has a big selection of mini figurines in the toy section that make great doll toys. We found several Barbies, My Little Ponies, and mini Littlest Pet Shop figures. We also found kitten and puppy play sets that include little bowls and kennels. These would probably be toys for American Girls due to their size, or pets for Barbie sized dolls.

Party favors are perfect doll sized toys — we found cute little saxophones, clarinets, and maracas. We also found perfect sized trophies for your doll to win.

The baby and wedding shower section has cute little favors. The pails are perfect for sand pails or feeding animals. They also make great vases for plants or flowers.

Dollhouse Supplies at Dollar Tree

We’re put together our DIY Foldable Dollhouse for American Girl Dolls using Dollar Tree contact paper and foam board. The Dollar Tree has many different types of contact paper to choose from, including adorable geometric print in teal or gray and a black and white toile that are perfect for dollhouse wallpaper. There is also textured ones with wood grain, marble, and a textured look for dollhouse flooring.
